Minute Maid Park Now Daikin Park

Minute Maid Park Now Daikin Park

So, we got the news today that Minute Maid Park, formerly known as Enron Field, will now be named Daikin Park. Founded in Osaka, Japan, Daikin is the global leader in air conditioning. In May of 2017, Daikin opened its 500-acre, 4.23 million square feet facility in Waller, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

It's the 2nd largest manufacturing facility in North America and the 3rd largest in the United States. People commented that it's a Japanese company, which it is, but they do have a huge presence in our area.

When the name changed to Minute Maid after being called Enron, we had a hard time adjusting to it at first, but it didn't take long for everyone to get used to the new name which was soon labeled "the Juice Box." Now, it seems like the new reference name will be "The Ice Box." Change is inevitable and something we must deal with on a daily basis but we always adjust and learn to accept the changes.

Thank you, Coca-Cola for your years of sponsorship and naming rights. We will miss "Minute Maid" Park, or as I would usually write, MMP, but will learn to adapt to Daikin Park, but not sure people will understand if I say DP because Dr. Pepper has always been my favorite drink, and that reference will never change.
